Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am 60 years old and have 4 beautiful grandchildren (a granddaughter and grandson from each of my 2 sons) and have been married for 35 years.

What three traits define you?

I am organized, dedicated and caring.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher.

What is one thing you could not live without?

I could but wouldn’t want to live without TV!

Where is your favorite place to be?

Home on our 5 acres in the country.

What is your favorite thing to do?

Hike in the mountains, sit on the beach, group exercise, spend time with my family and relax on the sofa watching TV.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

Columbia, South America; I went there with my Spanish class as a junior in high school for nine days. It enabled me to speak fluently, however after 43 years I have lost that distinction.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you?

When I first came to Gainesville, I sang with a band called the Sunset Rituals.

Tell us how you first got involved with Sun Country!

I started coaching Brown’s Gymnastics in January of 1982. Sun Country then bought them out in 1990 and I have been here ever since.

What has surprised you most about working with children?

That nothing can surprise me when you work with kids! It also keeps you young!

What do you wish other people knew about Gymnastics?

Gymnastics itself is the foundation for every other sport. But pre-school gymnastics is also about learning to get along with others, listening and following directions, taking turns, group cooperation, building self-confidence and self-esteem and finding out that being physically active is fun!

What would you tell someone who is considering joining or working in Gymnastics?

It is a fun job if you like children, enjoy being active and have lots of patience!

If you were not an employee at Sun Country, what would you be doing instead?

Working as a group fitness instructor or nutrition coach.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Working out, watching my grand-kids and working in the yard.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your powers to be?

Probably to fly!

If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

I am going to say broccoli because it is strong, healthy and vibrant! But if I am really being honest… I would be ice cream and cookies!

What is the first concert you attended?

Led Zeppelin in 1971!

What is your guilty pleasure book, movie or TV show?

Survivor! I have never missed an episode and would love to be a contestant. However, I am very opinionated and would probably be voted out first!
