At the beach – but in the shade with a cool breeze!

Tell me how you first got involved with Sun Country.
I was contacted by Linda Bennett regarding starting and developing a full dance program at Sun Country.

What is it like to be the Director of a Dance program?
Amazing, busy, crazy at times, but mostly rewarding – wouldn’t want to do anything else!

What has surprised you most about working with children?
After teaching dance to children for over 40 years – nothing much surprises me – but I am still continually amazed and humbled by how their little minds work!

What do you wish other people knew about Dance?
The profession of a dance instructor is a true labor of love. They are passionate about dance and truly care about their students, and about sharing and passing along this beautiful art form to future generations.

If you were not an employee at Sun Country, what would you be doing instead?
If I were not a dance instructor – I would probably be a wedding or event planner – or something like that. Still putting on productions!

What might someone be surprised to know about you?
That I married my high school sweetheart and we will be celebrating 40 years of marriage this October.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Always wanted to be a dance teacher. I was teaching dance to my classmates on the playground when I was in first grade!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your powers to be?
Invisibility!

What is on your bucket list?
I have always wanted to visit and explore the ancient castles in Europe…

What is the first concert you attended?
Elton John – Old Florida Gym – 1973.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
Well – I guess Meryl Streep – since I’ve always been told I look like her?!
