A Decade of WOW! Showcasing WOW Factor Highlights at Camp Sunny from 2015-2025
Camp Sunny Summer Camp is all about creating a fun, unforgettable summer experience for our campers. Over the last decade, we’ve introduced exciting new additions to Sun Country Sports Center to help make Camp Sunny even more exciting. Known as the annual WOW Factor, these enhancements have ranged from new activities like giant inflatable waterslides to facility upgrades, like the addition of our interactive Fun Walls in 2024.
In this blog, we’re showcasing highlights of all of the WOW Factors since 2015 and unveiling the highly anticipated 2025 WOW Factors

Ready to check your guesses? Without further adieu, here’s a year-by-year showcase of all the amazing WOW Factors at Camp Sunny from 2015 to 2025!
2015: Pool Cover for Sun Protection
Sunny days are even better when they’re safe and cool—that’s why 2015 marked the start of something great with the installation of a custom pool cover. Campers could swim and splash around while staying safe from the harsh summer sun and heat, keeping fun as the top priority.
2016: A New Outdoor Playground
Building on the joy of play, 2016 saw the installation of a brand-new outdoor playground! Whether climbing, sliding, or swinging, this play space brought endless excitement and became a favorite hangout for campers. Better yet, it’s still on site to this day and just as well-loved now as it was when it first arrived.
2017: Giant Board Games
Who doesn’t love life-sized games? Giant Jenga, Connect 4, and more made an epic debut in 2017, sparking fun, laughter, and opportunities for teamwork and friendly competition. We still enjoy these games at camp and community events, so be sure to look for our Sun Country Sports tent around community events in town!
2018: Ninja Rig, Warped Walls, and a Permanent Pool Enclosure
Adventurous spirits thrived in 2018 when we introduced the Ninja Rig complete with warped walls for our obstacle-loving campers. With challenges designed to build strength and stamina, this setup was a game-changer that kiddos in our NinjaZone classes and FUNrichment afterschool program get to use every day! Plus, we went one WOW further in 2018 and added a permanent pool enclosure, ensuring year-round swimming fun in our state-of-the-art saline pool.
2019: Expanded Rockwall Cave and Indoor Giant Volleyball
Adventure reached new heights in 2019 with the expansion of our rock wall cave. Campers could scale new peaks and challenge their climbing skills like never before! Meanwhile, our Indoor Giant Volleyball court turned games into larger-than-life memories for Camp Sunny campers.
2020: Camp Sunny’s Triumphant Reopening
After a brief pause during the pandemic, the summer of 2020 marked the triumphant reopening of Sun Country Sports Center for Camp Sunny. We welcomed campers back into a safe, joyous space filled with activities they love most, proving that nothing can dampen our Camp Sunny spirit!
2021: Outdoor Playground Innovations (Including Music Stations!)
Play took on a creative twist in 2021 with the introduction of music stations to our outdoor playground. Campers could now create their own rhythms, harmonize with friends, and mix fun with a splash of creativity. This WOW Factor also showcases our commitment to having a wide range of activities so that all campers can find something they love and excel at.
2022: New Bounce Inflatables – Obstacle Course & Connect 4
Bouncing into 2022, we introduced inflatable fun like never before. A giant obstacle course and Connect 4 inflatables had campers racing, jumping, and laughing through adventurous challenges.
2023: Outdoor Inflatable Waterslides
Nothing screams summer quite like gliding down an epic waterslide. 2023 brought the thrill of outdoor inflatable waterslides to beat the heat. The coolest way to spend the summer? We think so! That’s why we’re bringing them back for Camp Sunny 2025 (not as the WOW Factor, but as a kid-favorite feature!).
2024: FunWalls Interactive Climbing Walls
In 2024, campers got to scale new adventures with the addition of FunWalls! These interactive climbing walls power up climbers’ imaginations with fun designs and gorgeous vibrant colors, allowing campers of all skill levels to immerse themselves in a creative experience where they can feel like champions.
2025: Basketball and Pickleball Courts
Did you guess correctly?! We are so very excited to share that in 2025, we’re leveling up the court game with brand-new indoor basketball and pickleball courts! Whether shooting hoops or learning the fun of Pickleball (and yes, the creators really did name their family dog Pickles! 
), campers are going to have a blast through friendly matches and team play.
