Dance Sun Country Recital

Dance Sun Country’s 14th Annual Recital - “Up Up & Away”

Dance Sun Country is proud to present their 14th annual Recital, “Up Up & Away”. This year’s program features approximately 40 dances and includes performances by the many students that participated in the 2020-2021 season at Dance Sun Country. All classes, from the Dance Tots (our precious 3-year olds) through the advanced level dancers will be performing.  Many dance styles will be featured, including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary dance, and clogging.

Themes will include dances such as “Magical Flying Unicorns”, “Rise Up”, “Floating Away”, What’s Up?”, “Upside Down”, “Magic Carpet Ride”, “The Sky’s The Limit”, “Fireworks”, “Defying Gravity”, “Rise Like The Phoenix”, “To The Moon And Back”, “Sunrise”, and “Get Up And Dance!”, as well as many others. The program will also feature solo performances by this season’s SIX graduating seniors!

We are looking forward to an amazing show!

Letter from our Department Leader

Dear Dance Families,

We cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate our way through another challenging season. We are so excited that we will be able to have our 2021 Recital at the Phillips Center and are able to give our dancers the opportunity to have their time “to shine” on the stage!! Working closely with the Phillips Center, we are confident we have identified a format that will be safe for our dancers, guests, and staff.

A brief outline of our format includes:

• Four (4) “Mini-Recitals” will be presented over the two days of Friday, May 14th and Saturday, May 15th – to allow for a very limited number of dancers and guests in the facility at any one time.

• Allotted times in the schedule throughout each day to allow for cleaning and sanitizing between each mini-Recital.

• A continuation of the protocols you are accustomed to at Sun Country, as well as additional enhanced protocols in place by UF and the Phillips Center, including, face masks, hand sanitizing, physical distancing in all areas (backstage, audience, hallways), etc.

Detailed information has been provided to all families, outlining each class’ time slot assignments, order of dances, and specific guidelines, procedures, and protocols for the event.

Thank you so much for your continued support. I know that if we all work together to follow these guidelines, we will be able to provide a safe and smooth recital experience for everyone. We are looking forward to another great showcase for our students and parents.

About Dance Sun Country Recitals

Dance Sun Country will have its Annual recital at the end of each dance year. Participation in the recital not only helps to build self-confidence, but also develops theatrical presence, expressiveness, style and teamwork, which are essential to the performing arts. We do encourage all our students to share in this rewarding experience. It is a wonderful way for students to showcase the results of their hard work and for family and friends to join in their pride of achievement.
