Did you know that Sun Country Sports Center boasts a state-of-the-art rock wall for climbers of all ages and skill levels? Sun Country Rocks is a proud member of USA Climbing and offers:

  • 2,500+ square feet of climbing space
  • 900 square feet free-standing cave
  • 100 square foot spray wall plus campus board
  • 8 different themed, interactive “Fun Walls” by Walltopia
  • Top-rope climbing, lead climbing and bouldering are available

YOUTH REC CLASSES

Ages 6-18 | Co-Ed

Appropriate for any skill level, these classes focus on making climbing a fun sport and conquering fears. Children will learn safety, confidence, fitness and teamwork while they focus on the basics of rock climbing. Climbers will learn:

  • Basic climbing holds and safety aspects, such as putting on their harness and climbing shoes
  • The art of reading their routes before attempting to climb
  • How to position their bodies and properly use their feet and hands to increase their climbing ability overall

Classes incorporate conditioning and games, making this class a FUNdamental way to learn climbing techniques. Children can join Recreational Classes at any time.

Open Climb

All Ages | Includes Fun Walls!

Open Climb is for families, kids and adults to drop in and climb the rock wall and Fun Walls! While it is not instructional, a staff member will always be present to ensure safety and assist climbers. First-time climbers will undergo a basic safety assessment and training before independent climbing.

  • Open climb happens most weeknights and  Saturday afternoons
  • All of our rates include harness and belay device rental
  • Shoes are available for rental, or climbers can wear sneakers
  • All Climbers must have a signed up-to-date Sun Country Sports waiver on file before climbing
  • No child drop-offs unless they are safety trained (ages 14 and up only)

COMPETITIVE YOUTH TEAM

Ages 8-18 | Co-Ed

Sanctioned by USA Climbing, Team Sun Country Rocks trains students how to master their climbing skills. Practicing two days per week, they learn advanced techniques for bouldering, top rope and lead climbing and also compete in Region 71 qualifying events (includes Florida, Georgia and Alabama). Please Note:

  • Team Sun Country Rocks requires director approval and a two-practice trial
  • Students in recreational classes who demonstrate the necessary skills and coachability may be invited to try Team Sun Country Rocks

BIRTHDAY PARTIES ON THE ROCK WALL

Experience the adventure and thrill of rock climbing for your next birthday on our state-of-the-art climbing walls!

Whether your birthday guests are brand new or seasoned mountaineers, they will be able to participate in an 80-minute climbing session. We can accommodate a variety of ages and skill levels with top rope stations, auto belays, bouldering and climbing routes updated regularly.

We provide all the equipment necessary, so your climbers only need to bring a thirst for excitement!

  • Family Membership Required – $75.00 Per Family / Per Year
  • 10% Family discount – only one tuition in your family pays full price!
  • 20% Multi-program discount – take classes in more than one program to receive a discount! (same student only)

Sun Country Rocks is available at Sun Country (West) location.

Open Climb Rates

1-Day Climbing Pass:

  • Youth (under 18 years old) or Student (with ID): $16.25 (+ Tax)
  • Adult: $18.00 (+ Tax)

5-Climb Punch Card:

  • Youth (under 18 years old) or Student (with ID): $71.40 (+ Tax)
  • Adult: $76.65 (+ Tax)

Monthly Auto-Renew:

  • Monthly climbing passes will be auto-renewed on the 25th of each month for the upcoming month. Your first month may be pro-rated based on your start date. No refunds or credits once the month has begun. Must fill out an un-enrollment form by the 24th of the month if wanting to discontinue.

Rentals:

  • Shoes: $5.00 (+ Tax)
  • Socks required for shoe rental
