Swim America of Gainesville offers classes for children ages 12 months to 12 years.
Our Parent / Tot class is a group class taught with a parent or guardian in the water with the child. The class is designed to acclimate the child to the water and prepare him / her for more formal classes at the age of 3. Basic skills, such as kicking, floating, proper positioning and reaching for the wall, are taught through music and games.
Our Swim Lessons for ages 3-12 offer all levels of instruction from beginner to advanced strokes in a small group setting. In the beginning classes, the students will blow bubbles, submerse their face, flip from front to back, float on their back and streamline kick. After a child masters these skills, the strokes will be taught beginning with learning the proper arm strokes, breathing, and kicking for freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke.
Swim America of Gainesville at Sun Country is a learn to swim program for all levels. Our philosophy is to promote awareness and water safety by giving each swimmer a foundation of skills that will foster a lifelong love of the water.
We individualize each lesson so that each swimmer progresses at their own level of readiness. By offering each child the opportunity to master both development and safety skills, we install confidence and enthusiasm in the water. We firmly believe that the consistent reinforcement of our year-round, one or two day a week lessons builds success, confidence and smiles.
